Hi everybody, I'll try to explain here what has happened in the last few months. I guess everyone who was a regular visitor must remember when Portal suffered a hacker attack in 2008, showing a virus alert each time someone tried to access the site. Since that happening, we spent the following months facing endless problems with our hosting service. For many times we had to pay extra taxes and remove/replace stuff from the website. But why didn't we simply change the host? Unfortunately that wasn't even an option, once the whole changing process would depend exclusively on me and it was impossible to find time to start it.
We kept dealing with all the problems for months and months until we received the announcement of new rules in our hosting service. At first we thought that it would only be a matter of reducing the webspace. As my free time was getting shorter each day, the best thing to do was to think of a new Portal Melanie C, a new system with new aims, so more people could help with the updates and together we could adjust the site to the new hosting rules. Then I asked other Melanie C fans who are also webmasters to help me think of another project for Portal Melanie C.
In the meantime we faced more problems with the host what led our account to be cancelled. The fact is that now we don't have a date for the website to come back, even because we would have to start from zero in some of the most important parts of the site (gallery, articles section, media) and in a new host. Unfortunately my free time isn't as much as I used to have years ago, when I could put the whole project of the site online.
I really hope you can understand the situation and I thank each of you for the support in all of those 7 years. If you need any stuff from the site I'll do my best to send you.

Olá pessoal, tentarei explicar aqui o que veio acontecendo nos últimos meses. Acredito que todos que eram visitantes frequentes devem se lembrar quando o Portal sofreu um ataque de hackers em 2008, mostrando um alerta de vírus cada vez que alguém tentasse acessar o site. Desde esse acontecido, passamos os meses seguintes enfrentando problemas intermináveis com o nosso sistema de hospedagem. Por várias vezes, fomos obrigados a pagar taxas extras e a remover/substituir materiais do site. Mas por que nós simplesmente não mudamos o servidor de hospedagem? Infelizmente isso não era nem mesmo uma opção, uma vez que todo o processo de mudança dependia exclusivamente de mim e foi impossível encontrar tempo para começa-lo.
Continuamos a lidar com todos os problemas durante meses e meses até recebermos um anúncio de novas regras no nosso serviço de hospedagem. Primeiramente achamos que seria apenas uma questão de reduzir o espaço ocupado pelo site no servidor. Como o meu tempo livre tornava-se mais curto com o passar dos dias, a melhor coisa a se fazer era pensar em um novo Portal Melanie C, um novo sistema com novos objetivos, para que mais pessoas pudessem ajudar com as atualizações e juntos poderíamos ajustar o site às novas regras do servidor. Para isso, eu pedi ajuda de outros fãs de Melanie C que também são webmasters, para que juntos pudéssemos pensar em um novo projeto para o Portal Melanie C.
No meio tempo, enfrentamos mais problemas com o servidor que levaram a nossa conta a ser cancelada. O fato é que agora não temos data para o site voltar, mesmo porque teríamos que começar do zero várias das partes mais importantes do site (galeria, arquivo de notícias, multimídia) e em um novo servidor de hospedagem. Infelizmente, o meu tempo livre não é mais tão longo quanto anos atrás, quando pude colocar todo o projeto do site online. Realmente espero que vocês possam compreender a situação e agradeço a cada um pelo apoio nesses 7 anos. Se precisarem de algum material do site, farei o possível para enviar.
